Create Event

Explanation

Event driven maintenance can be used on PM Actions or directly link into work orders and work tasks.

An event can be of temporary nature as 'Power outage' or 'Breakdown', but also more periodical as 'Monthly shutdown' or 'Yearly shutdown' etc. When a certain event is reported, work orders and work tasks will be created from the PM Actions where the event has been defined if there is an event line available in the maintenance plan that is in status Active. Directly connected work orders/work tasks will be planned for the event. 

Each event may be defined as Plannable or Not Plannable through the Plannable toggle field. When an event is marked as plannable, it can be connected to event periods, and generation will follow the sequence for those periods.

Prerequisites

Before information on the event is entered, the following must have been completed:

• The user must be connected to a site. This must have been performed in Sites per User.
• For planning with event periods, at least one period must be defined.
• For planning with intervals, ensure the connected PM Actions have start and interval values defined.

System Effects

As a result of this activity, the event itself is created.

• Work Orders and Work Tasks can then be generated based on either defined event periods or defined intervals.
• The Next Seq field will indicate the next generating sequence for the event, maintained per site and period.
• Only events that are marked as Plannable will be available for selection when connecting Work Tasks.
