Calculate Historical Average Daily Usage

Explanation

This activity is used to calculate historical average daily usage based on historical issues. Issues within the rolling horizon will be considered in the calculation. All parts which are defined as buffered parts will be considered. It is advisable to perform this job if there is a change in unprotected lead times of the parts, lead time category or the variability category defined for the parts. All the buffered parts will be considered in the calculation. Output of the calculation may or may not be used in other calculations depending on how the Auto Update set up has been done for a particular part in the Buffer Part Attributes page.

Prerequisites

• Part should be defined as buffered part.
• ADU rolling horizon and the ADU alert horizon need to be defined in the relevant lead time categories.
• Unprotected lead time of the part should be calculated.

System Effects

• Historical ADU, ADU alerts and coefficient of variability will be calculated and variability category assigned for these parts.
• ADU alert message will be created by evaluating the conditions.
