Reserve or Unreserve Material Demand
Explanation
This activity is used to manually reserve or unreserve inventory parts for a maintenance order. This is done by
allocating or removing the allocation of material against the maintenance order.
To reserve a part for a maintenance order:
- Click the Material tab from the Manage Maintenance Event page. If you are working
with the Execution Logic Structure, select the relevant node in the graphical object structure from the
Execution Logic Structure page and click the Material tab.
- Select the part line and then click the Reserve Manually option to open the Manual Reservation dialog. All
inventory parts for the selected part, filtered on the required ownership and owner, will be displayed in the
list. Note that when company owned stock is required, all company owned and consignment type inventory parts will
be shown in the list. For customer owned stock, only the customer owned parts for the given customer will be
shown and for supplier loaned stock, only the supplier loaned parts for the given supplier will be shown in the
list. Select the relevant part line and enter the quantity of material you want reserved.
- Verify the quantity you have entered is displayed in the Qty Reserved field for the relevant part
line. You can also verify whether the reserved quantity is shown on the demand line by selecting the part line
and then clicking the Inventory Part Availability Planning option.
