Part accountability refers to the process of thoroughly documenting and tracking the specific part being inspected, along with its related assembly parts. This ensures that all components involved in the FAI are identified, verified, and traceable, making it a crucial aspect of the overall quality assurance process.
This activity is used to document the FAI part accountability information.
The part accountability information is automatically updated based on the FAI part product structure alternate components.
The FAI Part field is updated automatically according to the First Article Inspection Required setting for the part on the Quality Options for Control Plan Manufacturing page. This applies only to manufactured component parts.
If the component is an FAI part, then the FAI ID field should be entered manually to identify the specific FAI conducted for that component. Ideally, the selected FAI ID should be in the status Approved.
