This activity is used to set the FAI status to Expired.
When the time lapse between completion of the last production shop order and the actual restart of production exceeds two years, the FAI should be considered Expired.
To set the FAI status to Expired, click Expired under the Status button on the FAI header. This can be done at any time for an FAI in status Approved.
If the restart date of production is later than the FAI Expire Date in the FAI header, an information message will appear when releasing a shop order. In such cases, the status of the relevant FAI should be manually set to Expired, and a new first article inspection must be conducted.
