Perform Due Calculation for LLP Events
Explanation
This activity is used to perform the due calculation for LLP events for a given serial. The calculation will be
done for the serial, based on the registered average operational value per month and the life limited information
defined for the serial. In addition, the due calculation will calculate the remaining life and drop-dead date
and create a LLP event for the given serial, provided the serial part number is defined as a life limited part and
it has reached the days of the forewarning period.
Apart from manually performing the due calculation for a serial (as described in this activity), scheduled tasks
exist to automatically calculate due dates for all life limited serials. The Life Limited Part Calculation
scheduled task will be used to calculate the life limit of all serials defined as life limited parts. For more
information on the scheduled tasks, refer the online help file Adjust and Verify Background Job for Calculations of LLP
Events.
To run the due calculation for LLP events for a serial using the Serial Maintenance page:
- Search for the serial for which you will run the due calculation and click Perform Due Calculation
option to open the Perform Due Calculation dialog.
- Enable the LLP Calculation option in the dialog to calculate LLP events.
- If you want to perform due calculation for all serials in the serial structure, ebable the Calculate
Entire Structure option and if you want to perform due calculation as a background job, enable the Run in
Background option.
Note: When the due calculation is finished, you can view the calculated drop dead date for the
serial in the LLPs in Structure tab in Serial Maintenance page.
If IFS/Complex MRO is used to calculate due dates for the LLP events which are to be performed during a shop
visit:
- Open the Manage Work Scope Events page and search for the overhaul object or the MRO work order
number you want. Click the Perform Due Calculation option to open the Perform Due
Calculation dialog.
Prerequisites
- An average operational value (per month) for the serial must exist.
- For life limited parts to be calculated, life limited information must be defined for the serial.
- The serial available for due calculation, cannot have an operational status of Planned for Operation
and cannot be a locked serial.
- The LLP events that are in a planning state (i.e., in the Planned in Scope, Incomplete or
Under Preparation status) must be connected to a maintenance order that is not yet released.
System Effects
- When the serial part number is defined as a life limited part (LLP) and the due date calculated is within the
defined number of days forewarning, the calculation creates a maintenance event for the serial.
- The due calculation for LLP events will handle events that are included on maintenance orders not yet
released.
