View Document
Explanation
Use this activity to view a document file. You can view:
- The original document in its original application.
- A view copy of the original document.
Depending on how the document class process actions are set up for the selected document class, a document macro
can be run when viewing the document. You can view the files from Document Revision
page, Document Revisions page and Approvals page. Multiple
documents can be viewed by selecting multiple rows in the Document Revisions page.
This activity uses IFS Aurena Agent. For details on the file operations that support Aurena Agent, refer to the
Uses of Aurena Agent in
Document Management.
Prerequisites
- You must have view access to the document.
- If you want to open the view copy, a read-only copy of the document must be checked in together with the
original document. You also need a viewer that supports your view copy file format (e.g., Adobe Acrobat
Reader™).
System Effects
- After selecting a document for viewing, the system searches for the file and determines if you have view
access to the document. Then, if Aurena Agent has been installed, the application is opened and the file is
displayed. The file will be copied to a separate folder named Temp in your local check-out path as well. If
Aurena Agent has not been installed, the file will download to the download location which has been set for the
browser.
- A view document can be printed from Acrobat Reader.
