Exclude Part from Import

Explanation

This activity can be used to exclude parts from the asset import process. It allows you to skip a part for any reason while continuing with the import. For example, if an MRO finds an issue with a part in the uploaded data, they can exclude it and address it separately while importing the rest of the asset.

In the Import Asset/Import Details tab, select the part you want to exclude and click Exclude Part from Import. The line level status of the selected part is changed to Excluded, and any errors or warnings for that part are removed from the validation log. Excluded entries are not considered during revalidation and are not included in serial structure creation or update. If the part has child components, they are not included in serial structure creation or update because their parent is excluded.

A part cannot be excluded if the overall import status has reached Validation Completed or higher. At the line level, a part in the Validated status cannot be excluded either.

Revert Exclusion

It is possible to revert the exclusion of a part as long as the overall status has not reached Validation Completed. To do this, select the part with status Excluded and click Undo Part Exclusion. The line level status is reset to Loaded, and you are prompted to revalidate the data before continuing.
