View Route

Explanation

This shows the optimized route of the field service technician, including the start and end location of the shift, assigned tasks locations according to the execution order set for the selected date, along with the current location of the resource. The execution order of the Work in the route will be visually displayed on the pin itself. When clicking on a specific route, the Card is available to see more details about the route and the execution order of work. The dispatcher can make use of two route display options, Straight-line or Turn-by-Turn directions, along with traffic details to get an idea about the travel time and distance. On the Dispatch console map page, there's a possibility of viewing multiple routes for several technicians as well as for multiple days. As supporting functionalities, the tooltip available on the route can be used to differentiate them, and the route is highlighted when hovering over it. The card on each task displays additional details, including start and end locations, while the Map pins differentiate the completed Tasks along the route for the day.

When multiple shifts exist, all tasks in all shifts are considered, regardless of whether they belong to one or multiple shifts. The ‘View Route’ function is based on the current day, not on shift times. Only tasks scheduled for the current day will appear on the map route. For example, a task starting tomorrow at 2 AM will not be shown, even if the current shift ends tomorrow at 4 AM.

Once the routes are drawn, "View Unassigned Tasks" can be used to locate all the unassigned tasks on the map, which will then help the dispatcher to assign them based on a nearby route.

Prerequisites

An active Dataset needs to be defined for the desired company. Resources need to be set up with the Start and End locations of their shifts. At least one or more activities have to be allocated for the sys date.

System Effects

As a result of this activity resource route is drawn on the map.
