This activity allows users to add a reference to a previous Work Order or Work Task when generating a new Work Order using the Work Order Generator. The referenced Work Order or Work Task will be linked as a Source Reference, enabling users to view historical work performed, related documents, materials, or resources used.
The Source Information section is available on both the Work Order page’s Additional Information section and the Work Task page’s Additional Information page. When a source is added in the Work Order Generator, the Source ID and Source Information fields are automatically populated in these pages.
This feature is optional and can be used when a new Work Order relates to previously completed work. For example, a maintenance engineer may want to reference a prior Work Order to review attached documents, spare parts used, or tasks performed, before planning the new work.
Additionally, a Generate Work Order command has been added on the Work Task page. From here, the Work Order Generator can be opened directly with the source reference fields prefilled, making it easier to generate follow-up Work Orders linked to ongoing or completed tasks.
