Upload Document or Enter Text
Explanation
This activity is used to provide source information (documents or text) that will be used to generate a
Work Order. The source can be uploaded, attached from the document repository, or entered manually
via the Work Order Generator assistant.
- Upload Document
- Opens a section to drag and drop or browse for a file in PDF format. This option is typically used when
the report of a contractor or technician’s work is already available as a PDF.
- Attach Existing
- Opens a list of documents already available in the DOCMAN EDM file storage. The list is filtered by file
type = ACROBAT (meaning only PDF files are shown).
- Select one file from the list.
- Click Next to proceed.
- The same flow as “Upload Document” will follow, including scanning and analysis.
- At the end, the selected document will be available in the attachments of the generated Work
Order and Work Task.
- Enter Text Manually
- Opens a section to paste or enter the information in text format. This option is useful when the work
information is in a format other than PDF, such as Word or email content.
Note: A source reference can also be included at the beginning, similarly as with the
“Upload Document” option.
Prerequisites
Structured and clear information of work details exists.
System Effects
The uploaded or entered information is ready to be scanned for extraction. Click Next to
proceed to the Analyze and Review step.
