Warranty Assessment

Explanation

Use this activity to assess whether a warranty applies to a Service Object during the repair execution process.

Service technicians can perform a warranty assessment while working on the Repair Bench. This helps determine whether the warranty should remain active, be disconnected, or be closed. If the Service Object has been misused or does not meet the warranty terms, the warranty may be disconnected. The technician's selection reflects their evaluation of whether the repair qualifies under the existing warranty coverage and provides a record of why the warranty was removed.

Warranty assessments must be configured in Service Management > Basic Data > Task Basic Data > Warranty Assessments to be available during execution. These configurations can also automate actions such as disconnecting the warranty or closing it on the Service Object based on the assessment result.
