Add Component for Repair

Explanation

Use this activity to track the repair of a smaller component that is part of an item received for repair. The component appears on the bill of materials of a larger item and becomes a new repair unit connected to the same RMA. This activity is initiated using the New button on the Component Repair tab on the Repair Bench window. An assistant is launched that makes it possible to navigate the structure or Service Bill of Materials and select one or more components for repair.

Prerequisites

• The repair unit must be received.
• The repair unit must be a service object with structure or be for a model which has a Service Bill of Materials.

System Effects

• New repair units are added and connected to the received unit.
• The new repair units are shown in the Component Repair list.
