Handle Material Codes in IFS MWO Service
Explanation
Use this activity to apply Material Codes when planning, issuing, or unissuing material in IFS MWO Service.
Material Codes control post issue behavior, including creation of counterpart return lines, installation of
objects, ownership changes, unissue prevention, and adding installed objects to contract coverage. Material Codes
are used in Add/Edit Material, Issue Planned Materials, Quick Issue, Issue Reservations, Purchase/Shipment receipt
with One-Go issue, and Unissue flows.
Exception Handling
Common Exception Handling
- When a requirement or return is partially processed, the code fields become read-only for the remaining
quantity.
- If a code is changed or removed after its counterpart line has been processed, the connection is removed and
the change is permitted; a new counterpart line is created when applicable.
Material Specific Exception Handling
- When Prevent Unissue is enabled, the Unissue action is blocked, and an error is shown.
- When unissue is allowed, any unprocessed return lines are removed.
- When editing the quantity of a material line that uses a Material Code with Create Return Line enabled,
quantity changes do not affect the connected return lines.
Prerequisites
- Material Codes must exist.
- Attributes such as Create Return Line, Install Object, Change Ownership on Issue, Prevent Unissue, and Add as
Covered by Contract must exist.
System Effects
- A return line is created when Create Return Line is enabled.
- A connected return line is removed when the Material Code is removed.
- Issued parts are installed as objects when Install Object is enabled.
- Ownership is changed when configured on the Material Code.
- Unissue is blocked when Prevent Unissue is enabled.
- Installed objects are added to contract coverage when the relevant attribute is enabled.
- Unprocessed return lines are removed when unissue is allowed.
