Use this activity to select the Function and Function Description from existing Function Basic Data through the LOV for the FMECA Analysis. The FMECA Function is defined as a functionality that any asset in the item class needs to perform. The Function can be, for example, the movement of a load by a crane and the Function Description can be to move the load horizontally along a boom for 30 meters at a speed of 2 meters per second.
The added Functions can be modified and deleted, as required. An additional Note can also be added to the Function to specify further details.
Note: You cannot define another Function with an already existing Function’s name.
FMECA Analysis must be prepared in Prepare FMECA.
As a result of this activity, a new Function is created.
