Select Repair Reference
Explanation
Technicians, crew leads, and supervisors can select a repair reference for a fault or non-routine to apply
already‑approved repair instructions to it.
Note: Currently, you cannot add repair references, which require adding damaged records as the
functionality for adding damaged records to a fault or non-routine is not yet implemented in ICAM.
You can view the steps, labor requirements, and follow-on tasks of a selected repair reference when you add/update
it.
Also, technicians, crew leads, and supervisors can remove the selected repair reference added to a fault or
non-routine or update it to another one.
Only one repair reference can be associated with a fault or non‑routine at a time.
Some repair references require Maintenance Operations Controller (MOC) authorization. When such a repair reference
is selected, an approval request is created and the steps/labor are applied only after approval.
Prerequisites
- The fault/non-routine to which you are adding the repair reference or updating the selected repair reference
must be either in In Work or Active status.
- The fault/non-routine must not have any other repair references already added to it.
- You must be online to add a repair reference to a fault/non-routine.
- The assembly type of the fault/non-routine must have active repair references created for it.
- You must have a role/permission that allows adding, updating, or clearing a repair reference (e.g., Technician,
Crew Lead, Supervisor).
- The device must be online to add, update, or clear a repair reference, and to sync steps and labor to CAMO and
MEX.
Procedure
Navigate to the Fault Details page of a fault/non-routine or to the Task Details page of its
corrective task.
- Navigate to the Fault Details page of a fault/non-routine or to the Task Details page of its
corrective task.
- Select Select Repair Reference.
- On the Select Repair Reference page, search for the required repair reference using its code or
name.
- Select Save.
Info: On the Task/Fault Details page, select Update Repair Reference to
change the selected repair reference to another one, and select Clear Repair Reference to remove the
repair reference you already selected.
System Effects
- When you select/update a repair reference, the details of the selected repair reference (whether it requires
MOC authorization, whether it has a damaged record or damaged component, its request status, etc.) appear in a
separate section on the Task/Fault Details page.
- For repair references requiring MOC authorization:
- When the MOC approves, the authorization number appears and the status changes to
Approved.
- When the MOC rejects, the status changes to Rejected.
- When the MOC selects and approves a different repair reference, the new repair reference details appear and
the status updates based on whether MOC authorization is required or not.
- If the repair reference does not require MOC authorization, the steps and labor requirements
are immediately updated in both MEX and CAMO.
- If it does require MOC authorization, the update occurs only after approval.
- Follow-on tasks initialize and publish automatically from CAMO when you complete the corrective task with the
repair reference.
- The user can work on follow-on tasks only after they are published back for execution.
- When you clear a repair reference, it is removed from the fault or non-routine in both MEX and
CAMO.
Info: Clearing a repair reference does not remove steps or labor already added.
- In MEX, technicians see the selected or approved repair reference and its steps/labor once synchronization
completes. If the corrective task is Completed or Closed, updating or clearing is prevented.
