Report Picking on Outermost Handling Unit

Explanation

Use this dialog page to report picking of the outermost handling unit rather than on each specific inventory part in stock record. For each detailed pick list line there is information regarding which is the outermost handling unit that could be picked while still reporting pick of parts on this pick list. This dialog will then show that handling unit and all other picklist lines that will be picked as a part of that handling unit, meaning the whole content of the handling unit.
Note that that an outermost handling represents the outermost handling unit that could be picked when considering pick list lines on one pick list. If the pick list have reserved 3 of 4 boxes on a pallet (could be parts reserved by different pick list lines in this pick list), it would be these 3 handling units, not the pallet, that are shown as outermost handling units for the different pick list lines as it would be those handling units that should be picked for this pick list. If all 4 boxes are completely reserved on the pick list it would instead be the pallet that is shown as being the outermost handling unit that could be picked.

When you handle material demands with or without shipment for stored parts, they need to be reserved and picked on a specific inventory location. Whenever the parts are picked, the warehouse staff should enter what, how much, and from which inventory location they have picked the parts for each specific order or shipment.

When reporting picking on detail level there is also the option to report the outermost handling unit in which the part is stored. This means reporting a complete handling unit that still only contains parts included on the relevant pick list.

Use the Report Picking of Pick List Lines page and/or the Warehouse Task page for picking e.g. Customer Order and Shipment Order with the option to report picking on a detailed level from the generated pick list.
