Create Work Order from Project

Explanation

Perform this activity to create a work order directly from a project. When you select the New Work Order command from the Work Orders menu, the New Work Order assistant opens. It is mandatory to enter a Maintenance Organization and a directive for the work order. If you create the work order from a project activity, the project information is automatically added. If you create it from any other level of the project, you must manually fill in this information.

The work task connection based on the work task created for the work order will appear as a connection on the Activity Monitoring / Project Connections.

When work tasks are planned with resources and materials on the work order, they will report costs, revenue, hours, and progress to the project activity.

Manually Connecting/Disconnecting Work Orders

You can manually connect or disconnect the project activity reference from a work order, provided the work tasks do not have any cost lines or invoicable sales lines. To do this, use the Project Connection command on the work order. All work tasks associated with the work order will be connected or disconnected based on the criteria selected.
