Define Project Address

Explanation

Use this activity to define one or more addresses for a project. These addresses function as delivery or visit locations for materials and services procured for the project. For projects executed at sites other than standard company locations, project-specific addresses ensure that procured materials are delivered directly to the correct site.

The project address is used for the project instead of the company address, when applicable. The address can be defined separately for Delivery and Visit purposes.

In addition to being used for the project, a project address can also be assigned to sub-projects and activities, allowing different addresses to be used where required.

For each project address, you can define communication information, tax codes, and a tax calculation structure. This information is used when processing procurement and supplier invoices for the project.

Address Information

Project-specific addresses are entered on the Project Definition/Addresses tab. A new address can be defined in the General Address Info section, and its type specified in the Address Type section. Project addresses can belong only to the Delivery and Visit types. Delivery-type addresses defined for the project are used as delivery addresses in purchase orders and purchase reports.

A defined project address can be assigned to a sub-project and to activities on the Project Scope and Schedule page.

Communication

Communication information for the addresses can be defined in the Communication Methods section. A validity period can also be specified for the address and its contacts.

Tax Information

You can specify tax information for each project address, including tax codes, tax calculation structures, and tax exemption information.

This information is used as default when entering:

The default tax information entered for the project address is retrieved if the Use Supplier Address for Tax toggle is disabled for the delivery address in the Supplier / Address / Delivery Tax Information tab and the Use Project Address for Tax option is selected on the invoice.

You can also enter tax-exempt information for sites that qualify for tax-exempt status.

Distribution Information

A name for the location and a reference person can be defined as distribution information for a specific address.

An alternative name can be specified to identify the location related to the project address. The alternative name is used in sub-projects, activities, and purchase objects where the project address is applied.

You can also specify the name of a reference person for the location. This information is used on purchase objects where the project address is applied.specify the name of a reference person for the address. This information is used on purchase objects where the project address is applied.
