Define Project Site
Explanation
This activity is used to define a site for a project. A project can be developed or handled by several sites.
The sites are registered in the Project Definition/Site tab. All sites must belong to the
company connected to the project. The first site entered becomes the default site, and the default site can be
changed if required. Once a site is registered for the project and the project is approved, it will not be possible
for you to remove the site from the Project Definition/Site tab.
Use these options to:
- Enable the Use Standard inventory in Project
MRP toggle if the project MRP process must consider true excess standard inventory quantities as
supplies and use them when supplying project demands through a material transfer requisition.
- Enable the Automatic Transfer from Standard
Inventory toggle if the project MRP process must consider true excess standard inventory quantities as
supplies and automatically transfer that excess quantity to the required activity when the need date of the part
falls within the lead time.
- Enable the Use Std Inventory for Task
Material toggle if the Supply Code on material lines for tasks connected to a project
activity must default to Invent Order (Standard Inventory). Examples of such tasks include those
created from a work order or a request.
Note: To release purchase orders or view inventory parts, you must also be connected to the site through the
Sites per User page.
Prerequisites
- To perform this activity, the site must be connected to
the project's company in the Site page.
System Effects
- Demand for miscellaneous parts belonging to the project
site(s) can be registered.
- Objects belonging to the defined site(s) can be
manually connected to the project and vice versa.
