Perform this activity to spread the planned hours for the resource linearly between the Early Start and Early Finish dates of the activity. If the spread profile on the resource planning line is set to anything other than Linear, it will be updated to Linear when you perform this activity.
In Resource Planning, hours can only be spread linearly. However, when using Project Resource Forecast, you can select any user-defined spread profile. If the resource forecast is transferred to Resource Planning, the selected spread profile will also be transferred.
You can also use this activity if the calendar has been updated on the resource group to reflect a new schedule. After the spreading is completed, perform this activity again to verify how the resource consumption for the activity compares to the total consumption (from other activities) during the same period.
