Add Standard Task

Explanation

This activity is used to add standard tasks for service item as Work Tasks. In Standard Tasks tab you can add predefined Standard Task from Standard Task library or create a new Standard Task using New Standard Task assistant.

When you add a predefined Standard Task, the Activity Type, Work Stage, Work Steps, Resources (Person, Tool/Equipment and Crew Groups), Material/Part and Preferences, which are connected to the Standard Task will be linked to the Service item.

When a Standard Task is linked to a Service Catalog Item, these values are copied to the specific Service Catalog Item / Standard Task combination. The copied values can be adjusted per Service Catalog Item without changing the original Standard Task.

Exceptions

There are three exceptions to the behavior described above.

The following attributes are centrally managed on the Standard Task and can only be updated on the source Standard Task:

• Standard Task ID
• Description
• Duration

Prerequisites

• Service item must be defined with service delivery method as 'Work Tasks'.
• Standard Tasks must be defined in Standard Task library.

System Effects

As a result of this activity, Standard Task will be added to the Service as a Work Task.
