Explanation

This activity is used to register the start of work on a Request Task. Clocking in ensures accurate tracking of actual work time for labor reporting, cost calculation, and performance analysis. The clock-in record is linked to the resource and the specific task being executed.

Clocking in starts the time counter for the task. When work is completed, the resource must clock out to stop time tracking.

Prerequisites

• The request task must be in a status that allows execution (for example, Released or higher).
• The resource must have access rights to clock in for tasks in the relevant process.
• The resource must be assigned to the request task.

System Effects

• A time record is created and linked to the request task and the resource.
• Cost transactions are generated based on the clocked time and associated cost structure.
