This activity is used to add scope of work to an existing Service Project by creating new service work and linking it to the project. The activity is performed from the Scope of Work tab on the Service Project page, where users can view existing connected service work and add new services to maintain a complete and up-to-date project scope.
To add a new scope of work to an existing Service Project, select the New Scope of Work command from the Scope of Work tab. This action opens the Create Service Work Assistant. Within the assistant, enter essential details such as the customer information and a description of the requested work. Next, choose whether the work should be planned as a Quote or as a standard Request. After making this selection, proceed to define the specific services that comprise the scope of work. This process ensures all relevant service work is accurately captured and linked to the project for effective planning and execution.
During scoping, users can define planning details such as requested and planned dates. These dates are transferred to the corresponding scope lines in the created Request and support planning and scheduling within the Service Project. Multiple service lines can be added, edited, or removed before confirming the assistant.
Note: At least one service must be defined when creating a Request. If scopes are already linked to the Service Project, any new scope must belong to the same company as the existing scopes.
As a result of this activity, a new Request or Quote is generated and directly linked with the Service Project. The specified services become either Request scopes or Quotation Scopes and are visible in the Service Project’s Scope of Work tab, including scheduled dates and scope identifiers. These scopes are then included in project-level planning, capacity evaluation, and overall project visibility.
