When viewing capacity on the Resource Capacity Gantt, overbookings are clearly highlighted, so that capacity issues can be identified and evaluated during planning.
The Gantt chart visually represents capacity and demand through color‑coded bars. When the selected work item requires more hours than the available resource group capacity within the planned dates of a task, the excess hours are displayed in red, indicating that demand exceeds capacity. An exclamation icon marks these overbooked periods to draw attention to resource constraints that may require follow-up actions such as adjusting planned dates or reconsidering resource assignments.
