Check Out Tool and Equipment
Explanation
Use this activity to check out tools and equipment for a person such as a technician, operator or shop floor
worker.
If Tool Tracking is set to Track Check Out/In for a tool and equipment group
used in Maintenance, Services, or Manufacturing, you can track check-out and check-in of the tools and equipment in
that group.
To check out an individual tool or equipment, click Check Out on
the Tool/Equipment page or Tools and
Equipment page. In the Check Out assistant, select the person ID
of the person receiving the tool or equipment from the tool crib. If the tool or equipment is needed for a shop
order operation or an indirect job, you can specify this in relevant drop-downs.
You can check out multiple tools and equipment on the Tools and
Equipment page.
Tools that are added as demand for a shop order operation can be checked out through the Check Out
Tool/Equipment for Demands page.
Additionally, you can check out a tool or equipment that is required for a shop order operation from the
Tools tab on the Shop Floor Workbench/Dispatch List page or
Operation Guide. Select the relevant tool or equipment and click Check
Out. The Check Out command is available only when a tool or equipment is assigned and an
employee is identified.
Note: If security checkpoint is enabled, sign off is required when checking out tools and equipment.
Note: In sites where the Only Check Out to Person with Ongoing Clockings settings is enabled,
tools may only be checked out for a shop order operation if the employee associated with the person receiving the
tool has an ongoing clocking for the selected operation
Refer the activity Check Out Tools and
