Disconnect Work Order from Project Activity
Explanation
This activity is used to disconnect a work order or a work order structure from a referenced project activity. A
work order can only be disconnected if the work tasks on the work order does not have any cost lines or invoiceable
sales lines.
To disconnect the project activity, go to the Prepare Work Order page or the
Active Work Orders page, search for the relevant work order, and click Project
Connection. Then, click Disconnect from Activity. If the selected work order is connected
to a structure, an information message will appear.
- Click Yes if you also want to disconnect all work orders below the selected work order in
the structure from the referenced project activity.
- If you click Cancel,it will only disconnect the project activity from the selected work
order and underlying work tasks.
Next, Disconnect Work Order from Activity assistant will raise to select which work
task project activity connections should be disconnected, with following options:
- Disconnect all work tasks – All work tasks which has a project activity connection
will be disconnected.
- Disconnect activity related work tasks – Work tasks which has connection to the
project activity referenced in the work order will be disconnected.
- Keep all work tasks connected – Does not disconnect any work tasks that has a project
activity connection.
Prerequisites
- IFS/Project must have been installed along with IFS/Work Order.
- A work order must have been manually connected to a project activity.
- The work tasks connected to work order must not have any cost lines or invoiceable sales lines.
- The connected project activity must be in status Planned or Released.
System Effects
As a result of this activity, releavnt work task/s will be disconnected from the project activity, and will
not appear as a connection on the Project Monitoring > Activity Monitoring - Project Connections
page.
