Replace Permit

Explanation

This activity is used to replace the permit currently connected to a work task with another valid permit. The replacement logic depends on the status of the work task and the status of the permits involved. This ensures that permit changes follow correct safety and process constraints while maintaining traceability in the Permit‑to‑Work process.

The activity is performed from the PermitWork → Work Task → Permits tab, where the user can select the permit line they want to replace and uses the Replace Permit action. The system provides different permit selection rules depending on the work task status.

If the Work task status is not Work Started, Work Done, Finished, or Cancelled then the permit can be replaced with a permit that is not Returned or Historical
If the Work task status is Work Started then the permit can be replaced with a permit that is in Released or Iso Changed status

 

Prerequisites

• The replacement permit must be in the same site as the original permit.
• The permit to be used as the replacement must already be created and in the correct status.

System Effects

• The work task is removed from the old permit and an event is added
• The selected new permit is connected to the work task and an event is added mentioning the replacement
