Work package management is a core function in aircraft maintenance planning, enabling users to define, schedule, and execute maintenance tasks efficiently. The Work Package Details page provides centralized access to all relevant information and actions associated with a specific work package.
The lifecycle of a work package includes the following key stages:
Creation: A work package is created and can be scheduled immediately.
Scheduling: Users define the start date, end date, and location. These parameters are mandatory before committing or publishing.
Workscope Generation: Tasks and faults are compiled into a structured workscope.
Commitment: The workscope is committed, locking in the scope of work.
Publishing: The work package is published to the execution system, syncing tasks and faults.
Execution: Tasks are executed in the defined order using tally sheets.
Closure or Cancellation: The work package is either completed or canceled based on operational needs.
Search and Sort: Locate work packages using fields like barcode, name, status, and aircraft. Sort by attributes such as start date, location, or task key.
Assign Tasks and Faults: Assign unassigned tasks or faults to the work package with reason and notes.
Edit Tally Sheet: Reorder tasks and faults to optimize execution flow.
Extend Deadlines: Adjust scheduling parameters to extend task deadlines.
Set Plan by Date: Define an earlier due date to assist planning the work package.
Defer Faults: Defer faults with appropriate references and justifications.
Add Sign-Off Requirements: Define required skills for task sign-off.
Commit/Uncommit Workscope: Lock or unlock the scope of work.
Edit or Cancel: Update work package details or cancel if conditions allow.
View Opportunistic Tasks: Identify additional tasks that can be performed concurrently.
