Cancel Fault
Explanation
Technicians, supervisors, and crew leads can cancel a fault from the Task Details or
Fault Details page. Use this option when the fault needs to be moved to a cancelled state and all
related assignments, references, and records are handled consistently.
Clicking Cancel Task opens the Cancel Task assistant. The assistant displays
indicators for any existing Part Issue, Part Reserve, and Tools
Checked-in records, so that dependencies are visible before cancellation.
The assistant requires a Cancellation Cause and a Cancellation Comment before
the cancellation can be saved.
Prerequisites
- The task must be in Active status. This includes tasks associated with faults where
No Fault Found has already been applied.
- At least one Cancel Cause must be configured in Aviation Maintenance >
Solution Configuration > Maintenance Execution Basic Data >
Cancel Causes, with the Work Task toggle enabled.

included in the labor summary.
- An event log entry is created capturing the previous task and fault status, the new status, the
Cancellation Cause, the Cancellation Comment, the user, and the timestamp.
