Record Work

Record Work

Explanation

Executors assigned to a skill requirement within a task can use this activity to record the work for a skill assignment.

Certifiers and inspectors can log actions taken to certify and inspect the executor's work.

Work can be recorded to register the following:

If requirements were added for parts that need to be removed and installed, tools used, and measurements to be recorded, you must record these details and proceed to sign for them.

Record part removals, installations, and replacements in the Part Replacements section on the task card. You can sign off on the removal, the installation, or both by selecting Replace.

When you add a KIT part to a task, sub-component installation lines with scheduling action INKIT are automatically created. Removal lines are also automatically created for repairable sub-components. The Part Replacement pane on the task card is populated based on these installation and removal lines. When you sign off on the removal of a repairable KIT sub-component, the sub-component is automatically returned to inventory. As you sign off each INKIT installation line on the task card, the Used Quantity and Remaining Quantity values in the Component Details nested table on the MATERIAL tab update dynamically.

For KIT parts, canceling an individual INKIT installation line cancels only that line. Canceling the parent KIT component's installation line (REQ or NOREQ) cancels all corresponding INKIT lines. If you delete the KIT material line, the system also deletes the corresponding REQ and all INKIT installation lines, provided all lines are unsigned. On the task card, you can change only the serial number of the parent KIT component's installation line. When you select a serial number in the Edit Installation/Removal assistant, the serial and batch numbers on the INKIT lines update automatically. You cannot directly edit the part number, serial number, or batch number of INKIT lines. If any INKIT line is signed off, you can no longer edit the parent KIT component's serial number, batch number, or part number.

Depending on the digital signature permissions, you can sign off with or without a digital signature. You can use an assigned YubiKey to sign off on work completed on the aircraft with an immutable digital signature. The digital signature is stored against the task or fault and can be viewed at any time.

If you record work offline on a part requirement, tool, measurement, or step within a task before the work recorded by technicians in online mode is synchronized, you get a failed transaction once you go online. This failed transaction must be resolved before you can proceed with recording your work.

Procedure

Note: If you are recording work and signing off using a digital signature, follow through with recording the digital signature or cancel the procedure before the final step to avoid canceling at the final step.

  1. Go to the assignments list on the Task Details page.
  2. Select the assignment.
  3. Choose whether to partially record work or complete the assignment:
    1. To partially record work, select Record Work, then proceed to step 4.
    2. To record an action and complete the assignment, select Finish, then proceed to step 7.
  4. As work is performed, record details of actions taken and requirements specified on a work task such as part replacements, part removals, part installations, tool use and measurements by selecting the appropriate buttons in each section.
    1. For a part removal, part installation, or part replacement, enter the quantity of parts as specified or less than the quantity on the part requirement added to the task or fault previously. You cannot record more than the quantity specified on the part requirement.
    2. If the part added as a part requirement has alternate parts, if required, select the alternate part on recording the part removal and part installation.
    3. For KIT parts, sub-component installation lines with scheduling action INKIT are listed in the Part Installations section. You cannot modify these lines; sign off on each one individually.
    4. For KIT sub-component removals, the batch number is optional for batch parts.
  5. Execute, certify or inspect steps.
  6. Select Record Action, provide the Action Taken and, and select Save.
    1. If the assignment was not started using the Start button, the time you select Save is recorded as the assignment's start time.
    2. If you are finishing the assignment, if configured, you will be prompted to save actual hours.
  7. Do one of the following to capture work recording or assignment completion.
    1.  If you are signing off with a digital signature: Select Sign and proceed with the digital signing process.
    2. If you are not signing off with a digital signature: Select Finish.

Repeat steps 1 to 8 to record more work.
