Import Scenario 1 Results to Simulation Profile

Explanation

Use this activity to import supply, demand, and planning data from the last live MRP, Master Scheduling, and PMRP run (Material Planning Scenario 1) into the simulation profile using the Import Scenario 1 Results to Simulation Profile assistant. This provides a baseline for material planning simulation using the Simulation Profile option as the Simulation Source.

The MRP profile import also includes Project MRP-planned parts, with their supply, demand, and planning data by project activity, and the pegged supply used for project netting. The same simulation profile therefore serves as the baseline for both MRP simulations and PMRP simulations for the site and scenario.

During the import, the location-wise standard inventory details captured by the Prepare PMRP Simulation Profile Data background job are copied to the corresponding MRP simulation profile.

You can control which simulation profiles are updated for the selected site or all sites within the selected planning network for the chosen Material Planning Scenario using the Import to MRP Profile and Import to Master Schedule Profile toggles.

Re-running the import replaces the existing profile data. As a result, any modifications made to previously imported demands are lost. Supply proposals generated by previous MRP, Master Scheduling, or PMRP runs are not imported, since they are regenerated by the simulation. Firm supplies, such as released orders and manually created shop order requisitions, are imported.

When Clear Existing Additional Demand toggle is enabled, additional simulated demands added on the Additional Demands tab are cleared during the import process. This option is set to No by default.

If the simulation profile header does not already exist, the import process automatically creates the simulation profile header and populates data.

This job is posted as a background job and can be scheduled for later execution.
