Use this activity to add an individual inventory part to a site planning lever on the Parts tab of the Inventory Part Planning Levers - Site page. Add a new row and select the Part. The current live planning values of the part, for example, the planning method, safety stock, and lot sizes, appear automatically next to the corresponding simulation values.
Parts with live planning method O or T cannot be added. The same part cannot be added twice to the same site planning lever. If the live planning method of the part is N, planning method A is used as the simulation planning method, since planning method N is not supported in simulation. Simulation parameters that are mandatory for the planning method, for example, the lot sizes for planning method D and the order cover time for planning method G, are copied automatically from the live planning data.
The Include in Simulation toggle is enabled by default for a new part row, so the part participates when the lever is applied. The simulation values to override are then entered as described in the Modify Inventory Part Planning Parameters activity.
