Modify Inventory Part Planning Parameters

Explanation

Use this activity to specify the simulation planning parameter values for the parts included in a site planning lever, on the Parts tab of the Inventory Part Planning Levers - Site page. Enter a simulation value only for the parameters you want to override, for example, Simulation Planning Method, simulation safety stock, simulation safety lead time, simulation lot sizes, simulation scrap factor, simulation order cover time, simulation manufactured or acquired split, simulation setup cost, simulation carry rate, or Simulation Primary Supplier. A simulation value that is left blank means that the live value is used in the simulation. You stop overriding a parameter by clearing its simulation value.

The current live planning values are displayed next to the simulation values, and indicator columns, such as Planning Method Changed and Safety Stock Changed, show for each parameter whether the simulation value differs from the live value. Which simulation values can be entered depends on the selected simulation planning method, following the same rules as live Inventory Part Planning Data. For example, planning methods O, T, and N are not allowed as simulation planning methods, planning method D requires the simulation minimum, maximum, and multiple lot sizes, planning method G requires a simulation order cover time greater than zero, and planning method H requires buffer part attributes with a Top of Green value greater than zero.

Use the Include in Simulation toggle to control whether a part participates when the lever is applied. A part that is not included remains on the lever but has no effect on simulations, so you can switch individual parts on and off between simulation runs without removing them.
