Visualize and Compare Aggregated Labor Load Results

Explanation

Use this activity to compare the aggregated labor operation loads of up to three Material Planning Scenarios for a selected labor class on the Aggregated Planning Scenario Comparison - Labor Load page. The comparison shows, per planning period, the aggregated load of each selected scenario together with the available capacity, so you can evaluate the capacity impact of a simulated plan against the live plan or against another simulation.

Select the Labor Class, the Period Template, and the Site. Under Scenario Selection, select the Base Scenario, the Primary Scenario, and optionally the Secondary Scenario. To compare simulations against the live plan, select Material Planning Scenario 1 as the base scenario.

On the Labor Load Chart tab, the comparison chart is displayed once you select the Period Begin No and Period End No that define the chart window. Use the Display Option field to select what the chart presents. The load view shows the total load of each scenario in hours as bars, together with capacity lines: the labor class capacity and the overload and underload capacity lines calculated from the overload threshold and underload threshold percentages you specify. The load percentage view shows the load of each scenario as a percentage of the available capacity.

The Chart Details list shows the underlying period values for all periods and scenarios, including the capacity, the overload and underload capacities, the load broken down into Master Scheduling and MRP planned load, released load, miscellaneous load, and resource break load, the total load, and the load percentage. From the list, you can navigate to the labor load details of a scenario and period, and to MRP open supply and demand orders.

It is recommended to aggregate all compared scenarios close together in time, so that the results use the same period template time buckets. The aggregated load of a simulation scenario also includes the firm loads taken from the live CRP data at the time of aggregation, so scenarios aggregated close together reflect a similar live load situation and remain directly comparable. On the Aggregation Details tab, you can see when each selected scenario was last aggregated. You can also start a new aggregation directly from the page using the Aggregate CRP Load per Scenario command.
