Finalize FAI

Explanation

This activity is used to finalize the manufacturing first article inspection/supplier first article inspection.

In Manufacturing First Article Inspection,

• For an internal FAI, approval must be obtained internally.
• For an external FAI, approval must be obtained both internally and externally.

In Supplier First Article Inspection, approval must be obtained internally only.

To set the FAI status to Approved/Not Approved, click Approve or Not Approve under the Status button on the FAI header.

Prerequisites

• In Manufacturing First Article Inspection, the FAI status must be in Ready for Approval status and in Supplier First Article Inspection, the FAI must be in Released status.

System Effects

• As a result of this activity, the FAI status is set to Approved or Not Approved.
