Selection Rule Criteria control how selection rules are prioritized. Selection Rule Criteria weight set the priority of criteria across different rules by scoring each criteria and using the total score to establish the order for finding matches.
Selection Rule Type for Service Organizations
The Selection Rule criteria for Service Organizations, including optional secondary selection for the Service Delivery Unit (SDU), uses the following weights which are editable as required:
Example
For the Service Organization Rule Type, precedence is determined based on the values, starting with exact matches for Service, Service Type, Region, Customer, Model and Contract line. The search order is as follows:
| Precedence | Service | Service Type | Region | Customer | Model | Contract Line | Scoring |
| 1 | 100 | 70 | 40 | 14 | 8 | 4 | 236 |
| 2 | 100 | 70 | 40 | 8 | 218 | ||
| 3 | 100 | 70 | 14 | 8 | 192 | ||
| 4 | 100 | 40 | 14 | 4 | 158 | ||
| 5 | 100 | 14 | 4 | 118 |
Note: The selection rule logic matches on exact values, which includes null values (no selection made). This allows the system to search for rules with empty criteria, to make it possible to create rules for "any" value. For example, not selecting a Model in New Request will search for rules without any Model criteria defined.
If two or more rules are hit, these are evaluated based on the one with the highest additional weight specified - picking the one with highest weight.
