Enter Measurement in Service Execution Portal
Explanation
Use this activity to enter measurement readings obtained for an object. A measurement is carried out on a
parameter that has previously been defined for the object.
Measurement Parameters can be accessed from the Measurements action on the Object detail page
in the Service Execution Portal.
Use the New action on a Measurement Parameter record to enter a new measurement. In this page,
you can register either the FULL or DELTA reading value for accumulated-type
parameters. For Limit and Condition type parameters, you can enter New Reading Value and
New Condition Rating respectively.
By navigating to the Report All page, you can register measurements for multiple Test
Points/Parameters at the same time for the object. For accumulated parameters, you can register only New
(Full) Reading values on this page. Select Report Delta Values in the header to report
DELTA values for these parameters.
Prerequisites
- A test point and a parameter must have been connected to the object on the Serial
Object, Functional Object, or Service Object
page in IFS/Equipment.
System Effects
- The Measurement History of the object parameter is updated with the last measured value.
- If a delta value is recorded, it is added to the previous recorded reading, and the new recorded value and
total value are calculated.
- If the measured value fails validation, the measurement is still saved with the Preliminary
Reading measurement type, and subsequent readings continue to be recorded as Preliminary
Reading.
- If the measured value of a Limit parameter with defined minimum/maximum thresholds, or a Condition parameter
with a defined maximum threshold, falls outside the threshold limits, a warning message is displayed.
- If the object has been defined as Update from Object (Master) on the Test Point/Parameter
level of another object (Child) and is configured for measurement inheritance, the child object inherits the
corresponding delta value for accumulated-type parameters and the full value for limit-type parameters. These
inherited measurements are then synchronized to the Service Execution Portal.
- If a measured value is entered for a parameter on a child object that is configured to inherit measurements
from a master object, a warning message is displayed.
