Introduction

About this guide

This guide describes the hardware and software pre-requisites required before IFS PSO software is installed for both server and client applications.

It describes a basic installation of the IFS PSO system and some troubleshooting tips.

Please refer to the Architecture and Sizing Guide for details of server requirements and suggested configuration.

For a detailed description of a standard installation please consult the 'Standard Software Installation' section. A step-by-step guide through a deployment of the scheduling system on the Microsoft Azure cloud can be found in the section 'Azure Installation'.

If upgrading please review the section in this document 'Updating and Upgrading your Installation'.

Note

If the Scheduling Workbench is going to be installed, please consult the 'Pre-requisites' section for details of the required IIS installation.

Note

There is also a webinar available that guides you through the installation process.

Backwards Compatibility

As a general principle, all aspects of the interface are kept backwards compatible wherever possible. This means that under normal circumstances it should always be possible to upgrade to a new version of the software without any changes being required to the integration.

If updates are made to the software that require changes to the integration for any reason, these will be documented in the 'Appendix: Deprecated and Removed Features' section of the Release Enhancements Guide.
