Archiving Enhancements

The archive functionality has become an integral part of the product to allow auditing changes to the system. The archive functionality no longer requires a licence and is now a mandatory part of the installation. When upgrading an archive database will need to be specified if one has not previously been setup.

Automated Snapshots and Reporting

The Schedule Archiving Service will automatically take snapshots of the modelling, scheduling (including reporting data generation) and system data by default. Snapshots will be taken when datasets are the least active with the aim to take a snapshot once per day. This can be disabled, or replaced with a manually created timetable, by using the Timetable Usages screen in the PSO Workbench.

Vehicle Attributes

Vehicle attribute information in the archive database supports generating vehicle usage reports. This data will enable reports to be generated detailing information such as:

  • The use of electric vehicles vs. petrol
  • CO2 emissions
  • Vehicle usage by ownership type
  • Vehicle usage by model or individual vehicle

The planning workspace allows the user to create vehicle data and link vehicles to resources and/or shifts.

Note

PSO does not currently use vehicle data for optimisation purposes, or to directly generate reports. Instead, it supports the recording of the vehicle which the resource was using during each shift, and allows the user to fetch this data from the archive database for reporting purposes.
