Accessibility Statement¶
Accessibility Statement for PSO Workbench¶
This is an accessibility statement from IFS covering the PSO Workbench application. Detailing the measures to support accessibility
IFS takes the following measures to ensure accessibility of PSO Workbench:
- Include accessibility throughout our internal policies.
- Integrate accessibility into our procurement practices.
- Assign clear accessibility goals and responsibilities.
- Employ formal accessibility quality assurance methods.
Conformance status¶
The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) defines requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. It defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA. PSO Workbench is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 level A. Partially conformant means that some parts of the content do not fully conform to the accessibility standard. Compatibility with browsers and assistive technology
PSO Workbench is designed to be compatible at minimum, with the following assistive technologies:
- Chrome Browser on Operating System Windows
- Partial optimisation for screen readers is included.
Technical specifications¶
Accessibility of PSO Workbench relies on the following technologies to work with the particular combination of web browser and any assistive technologies or plugins installed on your computer:
- HTML
- WAI-ARIA
- CSS
- JavaScript
These technologies are relied upon for conformance with the accessibility standards used.
Limitations and alternatives¶
Despite our best efforts to ensure accessibility of PSO Workbench, there may be some limitations. Below is a description of known limitations, and potential solutions. Please contact us if you observe an issue not listed below. Known limitations for PSO Workbench:
- Keyboard navigation: Keyboard Navigation is being rolled out incrementally across the application, but is still not possible in some areas. The main menus and navigation are now fully keyboard navigable. Tab controls are now fully keyboard navigable. All data grids also support keyboard navigation. The Gantt and map components do not support keyboard navigation directly. This is planned in a future release. Some keyboard navigation is possible in these components using tab and shift-tab. The application is built from many layers of interacting components, including some third party components. It has not been possible to ensure that this requirement is met in every component that we use. We have an ongoing policy to improve keyboard navigation and welcome feedback on areas that are problematic. This will guide out priorities for future releases. We expect to continue the phased implementation.
Assessment approach¶
IFS assessed the accessibility of PSO Workbench by the following approaches:
- Internal QA Processes
- External evaluation (Report available separately)
- Each release of the application is assessed using the WAVE third party accessibility assessment tool. In most cases all reported errors are resolved. This tool is especially good at identifying issues with element labelling and attributes for assistive technologies, image labelling and colour and contrast issues.
Third party evaluation¶
A third party accessibility report for IFS Core products is available from IFS under separate cover.
