This page provides an overview on Business Reporting & Analysis data sources in IFS Lobby.
Microsoft SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) is the Online Analytical Processing (OLAP) server supported by Lobby.
Analysis Services is part of SQL Server and is required if the Cubes needs to be accessed from Lobby.
Information Sources are accessed from the IFS Applications database without any requirements for other software.

The clients (Lobby for Web, IFS Enterprise Explorer), directly communicates with the IFS Middle Tier/Application Server using the standard IFS Access Providers. The Application Server is responsible for routing the requests from clients to either the IFS Applications database or SSAS based on the data source type.
The integration with SSAS is mainly on the middle tier level. i.e. IFS Enterprise Explorer (EE) will communicate with SSAS via the applications server.
