IFS Business Reporter ClickOnce Installer Utility

From IFS Applications 10 Update 4 a new tool named IFS Business Reporter ClickOnce Installer Utility will be available as a stand-alone tool, delivered as a part of the BACLI software component.

The purpose with the utility is to make it easier to define all needed IFS Applications environments in one single tool and also to use the tool to start the installation of the IFS Business Reporter ClickOnce version related to a given environment entry.

The ClickOnce utility is delivered as part of the BACLI component in IFS Applications 10 (from Update 4) but it supports definition and installation of the IFS Business Reporter ClickOnce version both for IFS Applications 9 and IFS Applications 10.

How to Access the Tool

The utility specific installation package, IfsBRClickOnceInstallerSetup.msi, can be accessed in different ways:

 

The easiest way to access the tool is to use the Add-ons page reached from the Landing page of an IFS Applications 10 instance.

The msi installation package can always be found in the IFS Applications 10 specific <Build_Home> according to the following:

Installation

The installation is handled by simply starting the downloaded installer package, IfsBRClickOnceInstallerSetup.msi

In the second step it is possible to decide the installation location and if the utility should be accessible by the installation user or by Everyone.

In the third step, confirm that the installation should be started.

Last step confirms that the installation has been successful.


Starting the Utility

After installation the tool will be available in the Start Menu in Windows.

Using the Utility

Opening the tool.

Click on Add to open the Environment Details dialog

Fill in the environment details. The Access Point URL is found on the Add-ons page related to the IFS Applications instance.

It is necessary to specify Track, Apps 9 or Apps 10.

Click on Add to continue entering a new environment entry or click on Close to close the Environment Details dialog.

Use the Edit button to edit an existing environment entry. Use the Remove button to remove an environment entry.

The current environment info can be exported to a file. Use the Export option in the upper menu.

 

Choose folder and Save.

A previously exported environment file can be imported using the Import option in the upper menu. The import will only import non-existing entries.

 

For the above example, only 5 out of 7 entries in the file were imported. After import the following entries are listed:

To show group specific environments, use the group filter functionality:

 

To install an environment specific ClickOnce version, select an entry in the list and click on Install.

Next the ClickOnce installer for the version of IFS Business Reporter specific for the given environment will be launched.

Click on Install to start the installation. If the installation ends successfully, the installation dialog looks as follows:

 

Uninstall

The tool will appear among the list of installed programs.

To uninstall, open e.g. the Apps & features in Windows

Use the Uninstall button to confirm and start the uninstallation.
