Export and import configuration data

To update the IFS Maintenix configuration baseline using Allowable Configuration, configuration data can be exported from IFS Maintenix and imported to Allowable Configuration. After import, changes can be made to the configuration data in Allowable Configuration and published to IFS Maintenix.

Configuration data is exported in the form of a .csv (comma separated file). The export takes place as a background job. When successful you must import the same .csv file to Allowable Configuration which also takes place as a background job.

  1. In IFS Maintenix, on the Role Details page for the role which will carry out the export of configuration data, Permissions tab enable the ACTION_EXPORT_CONFIGURATION_DATA configuration parameter.

  2. On the To-Do Lists tab, select the to-do list from which you want to be able to export configuration data.

  3. On the Buttons tab, assign the Export Configuration Data button to your to-do list.

  4. Go to your to-do list and click Export Configuration Data.

  5. On your to-do list, click Export Configuration Data.

  6. In Allowable Configuration, open the Import Configuration Data page.

  7. Select the exported configuration data file to upload or drag and drop.

  8. Click Upload.

While uploading, the background job is displayed and the status transitions from Posted to Executed and finally to Ready, if successful. If unsuccessful, the status is Error and an error text is displayed.
