Financial KPIs

The functionality associated with Financials KPIs allows financial users to define typical KPIs of financial nature from the IFS client. Defined KPIs can be validated against as well as published to a target OLAP cube in SSAS (SQL Server Analysis Services) and after publishing the KPIs will appear as measures in the OLAP cube to be used for analysis purposes in e.g. Excel.

Architectural Overview

On overview of the architecture look like this:

When accessing from IFS Aurena, all communication goes through the IFS Middle Ware Server (MWS).

KPI Services specific projections and Java code resides inside the ODATA provider.

The MWS will handle:

  1. Communication with the SQL Server, i.e. accessing the database configured during installation of IFS Applications >>
  2. Reading from the SSAS instance as well as updating a specific OLAPcube with new measures.

Both these cases requires definition of authenticated user. This is done during installation of IFS Applications. For more info, please refer to the following link >>
