Accelerator and Shortcut Keys
Keyboard accelerators and shortcut keys are crucial to make IFS Applications
more efficient to use, and use without a mouse or other pointing device.
- Accelerators should be implemented on:
- Menus
- Buttons (excluding OK and Cancel which use <Enter> and <Esc>
by default)
- Accelerators should not be implemented on:
- Data items (e.g. data fields, combo boxes, checkboxes and radio buttons)
- Group boxes
- Tabs
- Shortcut-keys which are reserved by the system and should not be used:
<CTRL> + <1> - <9>
<CTRL> + <SHIFT> + <A>
<CTRL> + <SHIFT> + <F>
<CTRL> + <K>
<CTRL> + <SHIFT> + <R>
<CTRL> + <S>
- Keys that should never be used in shortcuts by the applications since
they are considered as system keys or used by the framework:
<UP>
<DOWN>
<LEFT>
<RIGHT>
<ENTER>
<SPACE>
<TAB>
<ESC>
<F1> - <F12>
