The IFS specific projects are created using the IFS Developer Studio. The Version Control System is integrated into the projects. You can operate tasks such as check-in files check-out files right from your relevant projects and create harvest packages and diff against local version.
You are also able to see a merged view of files in the version control system and the local workspace directory files you work with.
The Version Control System provides developers with a client for Harvest 12.5 that is integrated with NetBeans. The client allows you to check in and check out files as well as to browse files and packages in Harvest.
In addition to the check in/out functionality, the Version Control System adds additional functionality such as an instant diff when you edit files. This diff gives you instant feedback on changes to a file since it was checked out from Harvest. You can also compare the current file with older versions in Harvest
Support is provided for the IFS Consulting style of working with Harvest. For Customization projects, you are provided with a merged view of files in Harvest and files on the Archive disk.
Note: The Version Control System will only list files in the state 'Implementation'.
