Working with Harvest in R&D Support Projects

The IFS R&D Support Projects need to manage files in several VCS environments. The Version Control System displays a union of files and folders of the VCS environment and the user workspace folder.

When a file exists in both the VCS environment and the user workspace folder, file information of the user workspace folder is displayed.

Managing VCS Environments

Version Control System for this type of project, consists of two main nodes called My Projects and Other Projects.

How to select VCS environment to manipulate files

• Expand the Harvest node
• Go to Other Projects
• Select Move to My Projects from the context menu of the relevant VCS environment

How to close VCS environment after manipulating files

• Expand the Harvest node
• Go to Other Projects
• Select the relevant VCS environment
• Select Move to Other Projects from the context menu of the relevant VCS environment

Managing VCS Packages

When manipulating files within a VCS environment, files are grouped as packages.

How to list files of a VCS Package

• Expand the Harvest node
• Go to Other Projects
• Go to the related VCS environment
• Go to Packages
• Go to the related VCS environment state from the state nodes
• Select and double click on the related VCS package node.

Manipulating files in a VCS Package is the same as manipulating files in a folder, which is described below.

Managing Files

Under each project node you can navigate through folders of the related VCS environment starting from the root. The Version Control System Explorer only shows folders where files related to folder is shown on the right hand panel.

How to list files of a folder

• Expand the Harvest node
• Go to My Projects
• Go to the related VCS environment
• Select the root folder and navigate through tree nodes to the related folder
• Double click on the relevant folder.

Manipulating files can be done by selecting related files from the table and selecting actions from the context menu.
