There are a number of development tools tailored for various types of IFS Applications development. Please refer to the different sections of the development guide for more details on the various types of development.
IFS Developer Studio is the main development tool for server side storage and business logic development as well as middle tier development. This includes Integration / IFS Connect development. The IFS Application Forms Development Tools are used for Enterprise Explorer client development and IFS Report Designer is used for operational report layout development (Developer Studio is used for the data assembly server-side logic of reports).
In addition to these tools there are other tools to handle more specific parts of the development process. The Translation Manager is as the name suggests used to develop translations. The Presentation Object Scanner to simplify the process of creating Presentation Objects to fit into the Presentation Objects security model. The SQL Query Tool can be used in various scenarios, like development of ad-hoc reports and similar. Solution Manager is a tool used when developing and managing customer solutions - development, support and upgrade. Delta engine is released as a pat of Solution Developer and is a diff/merge tool tailored for IFS Applications usage.
