Aurena Page Designer

Aurena Page Designer is a tool to modify the standard layout and behavior of application pages in IFS Aurena and IFS Aurena Native. Applied changes to pages are stored as configurations and are application wide.

Open Page Designer

The Page Designer is opened from the user menu. Open Page Designer option will replace the navigator with the Page Designer pane. Note that the Open Page Designer menu option is only available from a configurable page (i.e not the start page). For IFS Aurena Native Apps the pages can be accessed from Solution Manager > Touch Apps > Configuration >  Apps for Page Designer.

Work in the Page Designer

The Designer consists of three different parts: Active Page, All Pages and All Elements.

Active Page
Representation of the content of the Current Page in the client model. It displays the metadata that builds up the current page.

When clicking on an Element in the content of the Page, it will display a Preview Pane to show the content of the Element. With this option, user does not have to scroll through the elements to get to the selected element. Once the Element in the content is clicked the preview Pane will be showed up being highlighted. User can do the Modifications to the Element in the Preview Pane.

Click on the header node of the Preview Pane and user will be navigated to the true location of the element which is in the All Elements section.

All pages
The Page Designer fetches a client model file that contains the page that you see. That model file can contain more than one page. If that model contains more than one page, all those pages will be listed down under the All Pages.

All Elements
The All Elements section is a representation of all available visual components which have been used on all the pages.
User can navigate to the Elements in All Elements section by clicking on the header of the Preview Pane in any element.

Page Designer Actions

• Save
  Saves the configurations to the server in the configuration layer of the meta data storage.
   
• Publish/Unpublish

Publishing makes the configurations available, displays it for end users.

Unpublish makes the configurations no longer visible for end users.

 

• Enable/disable Preview
  Changes the view towards the data in runtime. It is possible to toggle between the configured view and the standard view.
   
• List of Available Pages
  List down available pages within the current client model.
   
• Make a Duplicate
  Create Duplicates of Elements (Clone).
   
• Revert configurations
  Removes the configuration.
   

Configuration Indications

• Modify properties in pages
  
  When a property is modified it will be displayed with color change (Yellow Color) in each node of the path to the modified object.

  

  Once the modifications are saved it will change the color to Green.

  

Available Configuration Functionality in the Page Designer

Examples of functionalities available in the Page Designer:

• Edit Page Labels, Field Labels and section Labels
• Hide Fields
• Set fields to mandatory
• Change placements of fields
• Rearrange elements on pages
• Configure steps in assistants
• Add Custom Attributes to a page
• Add new elements to a page
   

Note: In general when it comes to dialogs and assistants, there are limited configuration possibilities compared to regular pages.
